A Little Help
To say that “we get by with a little help from our friends” would be a gross understatement. Over the course of 10+ years, we’ve had SO many friends help us out for SO many reasons (shout out to our hometown homies Holy Mountain & Stoup) but there’s one group that we’d like to credit with inspiring us to constantly improve and evolve our beers, procedures, and operations:
Alvarado Street
Cellarmaker & Berkeley Yeast
Green Cheek
Highland Park
Pinthouse
What started as a group pandemic pale ale collab in 2020 has grown into something so much more – a reliable sounding board, filled with enlightenment and insight, quick responses and unbiased feedback, and most importantly, constant support and friendship.
In keeping with the evolution of collaborative concepts, this beer was built on a simple ask: We wanted 3 specific tips/tricks/advice to integrate into this beer. It could be the use of a specific hop product or a unique lot of hops; it could be a brewhouse procedure or dry hop technique; it could be something to pay more attention to, or something just to think about. And then we combined all those little nuggets into this West Coast IPA, that we dry-hopped THREE times, and used more hop products than we ever have before. We think it’s one of the best West Coast IPAs you’ll have all year, and we couldn’t have made it without a little help.
