The Stumbling Monk is twenty fucking years old. And it’s one hell of an institution, for brewers and drinkers alike. So we teamed up with our friends at Holy Mountain, Future Primitive, and Slow Boat Tavern to create a birthday beer for Rob. BUT, we kept Rob in the dark about it in the whole time. It was fairly easy to do since Rob doesn’t like this thing called the internet. We used Castle Pale & Pilsner Malt from Belgium as a base, and then integrated older NW hops – Chinook & Comet – with new wave NW hops – Idaho 7 & Mosaic – that results in notes of pine and citrus flesh and pineapple, with a touch of dankness.
