It’s an age old debate of spitting in the wind with this pale. We used equal amounts of two relatively similar hops from different sides of the globe – Yakima grown Cascade and Mandarina Bavaria from Germany – to see which would prevail. Both hops tend to be straight-forward & citrusy – Cascade a bit more pithy and abrasive, Mandarina a bit sweeter and earthy. One is stubborn and complicated, one is simple and linear. In the end, we think Cascade is greater than or equal to Mandarina, but let’s just table the argument for now and see how it lines up.
