For New Zealand style beers, Nelson is THAT hop. It put their growing region on the map. It got into the hands of American IPA brewers, and never left. It simply has no substitute nor imitator – it’s that unique. It’s been in every single one of these NZ/WCIPA recipes we’ve brewed and it always will be. Yeah, we add other hops – this go around those hops are Rakau and Citra – but it’s all about the Nelson. All gas, no brakes, no exceptions.
