The quintessential dark beer drinker is a proud and passionate member of a very niche vocal minority. This group of 7-9 people often asks when our next dark beer is coming out, sometimes just a couple days after we release a brand new one. Which honestly shows us that there are still people, albeit very few, that LIVE for the dark stuff. They get excited about malt forward glory, crystal and chocolate, kilned and roasted barley OH MY. At Cloudburst, we probably make 5-6 dark beers a year. Usually one is on tap, maybe two if you’re lucky. We package them with the intention of the beer lasting 3-4 months on tap…because that’s how long they take to sell. We wish it wasn’t that way, especially with this lovely little English Brown Ale right here. A blend of 9 malts, a light hop charge, a low abv, and infused with cold brew we made ourselves with Lighthouse Roasters Captain Bert’s beans. “Cool Brown Ale,” said nobody.
